Privacy Policy
Last updated 1 September 2026
This policy explains how Throat Threads Apparel handles personal information on throatthreads.com. We have written it to describe what this site actually does, rather than to reserve rights we do not exercise.
The short version: this is a corporate brochure site. It has no accounts, no shopping cart, no contact forms, no advertising or analytics trackers, and it sets no cookies. We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
Who we are
Throat Threads Apparel ("Throat Threads", "we", "us") is an apparel distribution and brand-building company based in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. We are the organisation responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
Information we collect
We do not ask you for any personal information on this website. There are no sign-up forms, contact forms, newsletter fields, or user accounts. The limited information that does arise comes from ordinary web infrastructure:
- Server and security logs. Our hosting provider, Netlify, automatically records standard request data such as IP address, browser type, referring page, and the time of the request. This is used to serve the site, keep it secure, and diagnose faults.
- Web fonts. This site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests those files, your IP address is visible to Google as part of that request. We do not receive or store anything from it.
- Email you choose to send us. Links on this site open your own email program. If you email us, we receive whatever you write and your email address, and we keep it as business correspondence.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not set cookies, and it carries no analytics, advertising, or social media tracking pixels. Nothing is stored in your browser's local or session storage. There is no cross-site tracking to opt out of, because there is none taking place.
Our separate consumer brand websites are run on their own platforms and have their own privacy policies, which may differ from this one. This policy covers throatthreads.com only.
How we use information
We use the limited information described above only to:
- deliver, maintain, and secure this website;
- investigate technical problems, abuse, or attempted attacks; and
- reply to business enquiries you send us by email.
We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making, and we do not build marketing audiences from it.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the site — principally our hosting provider (Netlify) and our email provider — and only so far as they need it to perform that service. We may also disclose information where we are required to by law, or to protect our legal rights.
Where information is held
We are based in Canada, and our service providers operate globally. Information may therefore be processed in Canada, the United States, or other countries whose data protection laws differ from those where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
Retention
Hosting logs are retained by our provider on their standard schedule, which is a short rolling window. Business correspondence is kept for as long as it is commercially relevant, and then deleted.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a regulator. This includes rights under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and, for visitors in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, or California, the equivalent rights under the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act.
Because this site collects almost nothing, in most cases we will hold no personal information about you at all. To make a request, email info@throatthreads.com and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
If you are in Canada and are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This site is intended for a business audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how this site handles personal information — for example, if we add analytics or a contact form — we will update this page and revise the date at the top.
